Daniel,

The upgrade process does save file.

SAVEDIR="$HOME/ms_upgrade/saved.$$”;


The script copies numerous files to: ${SAVEDIR}/etc/MailScanner/

The MailScanner.conf is copied to MailScanner.conf.original

Custom functions and the like are copied to:
${SAVEDIR}/etc/MailScanner/CustomFunctions
