Errors filling up /var/log/messages

I have the following errors filling up my messages log file

[LibClamAV] mpool_malloc(): Attempt to allocate 8388608 bytes

I am pretty certain it is related to freashclam processes but cannot find a reason why ?

I know it is not the clamav list which I have just joined but hoping someone might have a fix..
