Mailscanner not working after update on Fedora 8

The perl Scalar-Util module in Fedora install is broken. You need to download the latest version from the website...

I get the error occasionally after perl updates itself.


wget http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/G/GB/GBARR/Scalar-List-Utils-1.19.tar.gz

tar xzvf Scalar-List-Utils-1.19.tar.gz
cd Scalar-List-Utils-1.19

perl Makefile.PL
make test

make install

I did the yum install perl-Compress-Zlib as you suggested. Now when I start Mail scanner I get the following error:

As far as the build data. I get that error for each of the modules listed in the /var/tmp folder.

Sounds like the install script failed trying to build an RPM of one of
the Perl modules, possibly Compress::Zlib.  You might be able to get it
working by doing

       yum install perl-Compress-Zlib

and then starting MailScanner again.

It would help a lot if you posted the build output just before the
failure.  Then we might be able to tell you why it was failing and how
to get around the failure.
