Zero epoch-date

Since I've switched over to exim4 and Mailscanner, I'm getting one
particular list mail that gets its date 'zeroed' (actually I think it's
completely missing, but Thunderbird displays it as 1/1/70). Now this
could well be an exim4 issue (when I was running Exim3 and no
MailScanner, a date was appearing from 'somewhere').

Obviously, zeroed dates don't help with sorting mail, so can anyone
suggest which step of the chain is causing the problem?
(I'm suspecting it may be the message sender failing to provide a date,
but, as noted, something must have been filling them in in the past).

If it's not a Mailscanner issue, my apologies for raising it here.
