I kinda figured there were bad things happening with sendmail due to the low
process numbers and the "Data Read" part of the ps listing. I just thought
sendmail was supposed to do the killall. Guess not.
I block as much as I can determine should be truly blocked, but mostly at our
firewall. This leaves a lot to be desired as the MTA could probably do a little
more generic testing than just by IPs.
I haven't put any milters on, and a lot of the sendmail parameters don't seem to
apply to a lot of overall crap, but I guess a little here, a little there would,
add up.
I will try the killall the next time and see how that goes.
