Possible bug??

I wrote Julian past weeks about a problem running MailScanner on Sendmail
8.12.8 (Red Hat 9 Distrution)



MailScanner was running but didn't scan anything at all. Messages stay in
/var/spool/mqueue.in



I made it work just restarting syslogd daemon.



Apparently when syslogd is not running MailScanner doesn't work, and
obviously sendmail doesn't wrote any log fail (/var/log/maillog)
