No... as I said above... if a '.rej' is generated, or even if no hunks
are rejected, but they succeed at a slightly different offset, a
Message.pm.orig is created with your original file...

It is, indeed, A Very Good Idea (TM)... I ALWAYS do this, even when I
know that I'd get a '.orig' if something's not perfect (I personally
use .ORI, but you can use whatever you like).
