Not very Sendmail compatible but I use CourierIMAP which has an option to
automatically delete messages of a certain age in certain folders (Such
as Trash). This is the age in the folder not age of the mail item. Does
shared folders for spam/ ham as well. Works very well but only for
Maildirs...
