Sendmail mailertable troubles

[Al Cooper]

Here's my setup:

In sendmail.cf
Kmailertable hash /etc/mail/mailertable
FR-o /etc/mail/relay-domains

In /etc/mail/mailertable
alc.org         smtp:[172.16.0.76]  (172.16.0.76 is the server I am trying
to rely to. The server this is configured on is 172.17.0.75)

In /etc/mail/relay-domains
alc.org

I ran "makemap hash /etc/mail/mailertable < /etc/mail/mailertable" to create
the mailtable.db file (is this what you mean by "hash the mailertable"?

re-start MS and ..... no forwarding. (MX loops)

What am I missing?

PS. alc.org is a made-up domain that I am routing via internal DNS servers.
I don't own that domain.

Here's an example of one of the domains I scan and forward for:

in /etc/mail/mailertable:

farfalle.com            esmtp:postal.farfalle.com

in /etc/mail/relay-domains:

farfalle.com

That's it!  I hash the mailertable and restart MailScanner.  When you stop
mailscanner, are all of your sendmail process in fact stopping?
