Huge delay delivering mail

Check the "Sendmail" and "Sendmail2" settings. Particularly if you aren't
using sendmail as your MTA. If these are wrong, it can end up waiting until
the next queue run happens before delivering your messages.

On a lightly loaded system, the latency through MailScanner should be 1 or
2 seconds. Anything much longer than that is wrong.
