Your RedHat 9.0 box is almost certainly still configured to run Postfix and
not sendmail.
My RH9 box is switched off at the moment (generating too much heat in this
weather), but the command you need to run is
rh-switchmail-nox
or
redhat-switchmail-nox
and choose sendmail.
