config issue?

I did - but I'm with you.  I must have overlooked something with the
SpamAssassin install/config.

I have since removed SpamAssassin.  Attempted to run a clean install.

When I ran make test - I recv'd many errors, below are just some of them:

After each failed component I noticed a message stating: having trouble with
spamd may have a running process.  I double-checked to ensure spamd or
spamassassin was not running.

I continued with the install to see what kind of results I would
get...here's what mail log stated when I started MailScanner:

MailScanner does not use spamd.

MailScanner uses the command-line version of SpamAssassin, not the
backgroudn
daemon.

Have you installed MailScanner and SpamAssassin according to the
instructions
on http://www.MailScanner.info ?
