probably the easiest thing to do would be to look at the install files for
your platform. It does work on email gateways, infact thats what its primary
purose was (i beleive) anywayz, thats what i use it for. As far as another
language, the only thing you should have to change would be a few settings
in the mailscanner.conf file for when a message is sent out that was cleaned
or whatever. As far as 3, were just changing the command line for starting
sendmail. The rest is up to mailscanner and whatever virus package you
decide to use.

Hope this helps,
Kelly

Subject: Newbie questions

Hi,

I am seriously considering installing MailScanner as a replacement for
Anomy here at Université de Sherbrooke.

But I have a few questions: ;-)

1- would a French version be available somewhere? If not, are all the
files that would need translating in the /usr/local/MailScanner/etc
directory?

2- could it be used on a mail gateway that accepts emails for many
domains, scans them and then dispatchs them to other mail hosts? (the
doc seems to say so)

3- the documentation says that "It is easy to install into an existing
e-mail gateway, requiring very little knowledge of sendmail and no
change to an existing sendmail configuration."; it also says "All the
required changes can be easily done by editing the commands used to
start sendmail." but I can't find more on the subject... is this
magical?

Thanks!
