1) Yes. All the text files are the ones that mailscanner uses to replace message bodies of infected messages, etc.
2) Yes
3) What you are doing is changing sendmail so that it has an incoming queue and an outgoing queue. Default sendmail has a single queue to process all incoming and outgoing. Mailscanner runs in between. It picks up the incoming mail, scans it and moves it to the outgoing. Example:

                /usr/lib/sendmail -bd -ODeliveryMode=queueonly -OQueueDirectory=/var/spool/mqueue.in
                /usr/lib/sendmail -q5m
                /opt/mailscanner/bin/check_mailscanner

Subject: Newbie questions

Hi,

I am seriously considering installing MailScanner as a replacement for Anomy here at Université de Sherbrooke.

But I have a few questions: ;-)

1- would a French version be available somewhere? If not, are all the files that would need translating in the /usr/local/MailScanner/etc directory?

2- could it be used on a mail gateway that accepts emails for many domains, scans them and then dispatchs them to other mail hosts? (the doc seems to say so)

3- the documentation says that "It is easy to install into an existing e-mail gateway, requiring very little knowledge of sendmail and no change to an existing sendmail configuration."; it also says "All the required changes can be easily done by editing the commands used to start sendmail." but I can't find more on the subject... is this magical?

Thanks!
