Sorry for this late response
If this problem is still open I would suggest you to trace the mail in
the logs further.

We have seen this problem a number of times

There may be a unexpected disconnect from the smtp client and postfix
simply drops the message 

Look for smtpd\[$PID.*$IPADDRESS in your maillog 
There must be a disconnect_after_data error
