if the size stays the same and I interpret that as meaning it's also the 
same in Outlook then the file is still there but Outlook may not be able to 
"see" it. Check if it is really there. I don't know how to do that on 
Outlook. You can *not* rely on the source view of Outlook. (If there is no 
way to achieve that with Outlook, get a decent mail client and retrieve the 
mail with it.)
And if it's just hat Outlook cannot see it then this might have been caused 
for instance by adding a signature or disclaimer or whatever by MailScanner. 
So, you may want to switch off any such options for testing.
