Yum Upgrade on CentOS 5.3 failing On Perl

I've had this issue in the past and have never known the best way to deal
with this. I like to keep my servers up to date by using YUM. However, the
upgrade is failing do to the perl packages installed that are related to
MailScanner. I've finally gotten MailScanner to work the way I would like it
to be and certain afraid of breaking it and am hoping someone could suggest
the best way to proceed in upgrading my server.
