I have a few questions related to this page:

Why is "cp" used instead of "mv"? Is is simply the "-p" option availability?

When using "install" I assume the case of .../spam/... still requires
the removal of the tail term . Correct?

Is the function at the end of the page just a suggestion for use in
the above scripts?
