Once I actually concentrated on the detail of the code for 2 minutes, it 
stared me in the face.
All fixed.

I have just released 4.76.23 which contains both this fix, and the 
re-ordering of Perl modules for CentOS 5.2->5.3 users.

Please test both aspects.
