There are a lot of lines diffing that plainly shouldn't.... Have you
perhaps edited the "bad" one with a windoze editor at some point? If
so, you might (with a tool like od, or with the vi thing Peter
suggests, or ... well, basically any tool that will display the
"non-printable characters) see spurious CR characters on any line
you've actually changed (and hit <Enter> on)... Would explain things
nicely:-)
