That was exactly it!  I am not getting these annoying emails any more!
It makes perfect sense now; I was telling the program not to scan
anything coming from my domain so MailScanner diligently did what I
asked it to do :-)

Definitely yes! It's so easy to spoof a From: adress! Use IP addresses 
instead.
