If you implement it as a straight text ruleset, I wouldn't advise more 
than a thousand or so rules, as it has to check them in order and it 
will just gradually get slower as you add more rules. There is no 
theoretical limit, however.

However, if you use a Custom Function to produce the answer, then you 
can of course make your logic as complicated as you like, it's your code.
