OT: Is sendmail safe for SMTP?

Yes we checked on the Postfix forum.  Our problem has to do with 
rewriting rules... We would have to change our LDAP schema to be able to 
switch to Postfix and since we have approx. 50,000 people in our LDAP 
db, it would have been a big job to make LDAP compatible with Postfix 
while our production servers continue to use sendmail's schema to 
deliver mail...
