since I still have spamassassin 3.1.4 (debian sarge default) I didn't apply
the patch.

Simply adding the rules you pointed out dramatically lowered the processing
time from 100-150 seconds to 1-20 and the queue vanished completely.

Now I guess I should spend some time understanding the rules... ;-)
