there's a generic scanner you can use to call a.n.other commercial scanner..

Also I'd check the clamav settings - latest versions of MS can use clamd which is a lot faster than clamscan or clamdscan. Also make sure you're using an upto date clamav, they had a few performance issues early on in in the 0.90 releases, esp with clamscan.
