No, I meant use the defaultand recommended settings,
max children = 5 for 1 cpu, 10 for 2 cpu's and 20 if you have a quad 
processor box.

hyperthreaded cpu's must only be counted as 1 cpu, because thats all 
they really are.

Message batches? should = no less than 30, no more than 100, avg it at 50 
if 30 is not enough to keep up.
