I have had even worse than that.
In my old house, I put in a new sink. I needed to change out a very clogged 90
fitting. Removing that fitting broke the pipe all the way under the house.
2 hour job turned into 2 day job, and even though the plumber didn't charge by
the hour, he (and I) went through a lot of beer, and I found a dead cat under
the house.
But I learned some good tricks those days.
