I will see how things go in the morning.  Right now I'm back down to 
about 150 messages waiting which is normal for me.  It took most of the 
day and some of the night for it to chew through the nearly 10,000 that 
accumulated through the day.  I have not had an issue like this for some 
time and prior to this it was DNS queries causing the problem, that is 
when I implemented the local caching name server and it has been pretty 
solid since then.  I am using the following in MailScanner.conf.

Spam List = ORDB-RBL SBL+XBL

I will try your suggestions if the problem occurs again.  I appreciate the feedback.  Thanks for your help.
