Have you verified that your /etc/mail/spamassassin/mailscanner.cf is a symlink
to /etc/MailScanner/spam.assassin.prefs.conf?

Otherwise, I'm at a loss. Maybe time to hose the MailScanner and Spamassassin
installs, and start over?
