MailScanner + sendmail - sendmail process killed abruptly

Hi!

The entire setup is running MailScanner-4.45.4 | sendmail-8.13.4. When 
only sendmail is running it is working fine. But when I start the 
mailscanner (which internally starts sendmail) after a few seconds 
sendmail dies abruptly and gives an connection refused error

relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection 
refused by [127.0.0.1]
