This one can't easily be avoided, it's Perl doing a sanity check that I
don't want. The only other option is to try to modify the Config.pm file
deep in your Perl installation, which I may well not be able to do if
for example your Perl installation is NFS-mounted read-only.

That sounds like a fault in DynaLoader.pm or something that is being
passed to them. I suspect that is outside of my control.
