BTW if you are posting to the MailScanner list, which I just had a quick
search through, you might want to comment:

milter-ahead functionality was originally implemented in milter-sender,
then broken out into a separate milter, because some people just didn't
want the call-back and supplemental tests of milter-sender (though they
can all be set on/off now). Anyone using milter-sender does NOT need
milter-ahead, since the functionality is included as an option
MxCallAhead. Changes relavent to call-ahead are made to both milters
pretty much at the same time.
