archive mails only as queue files?

Currently the Archive Mail does exactly that, and stores all mail in the
raw queue format of whatever MTA you are using. You will have to write a
script to convert those raw queue files into rfc822 message files, if
that is what you want.
Someone on this list might even write it for you for a suitable bribe.
