4.39.3-1 bug or is it me?

Have checked all these things and they are OK! :-(
I can see the point at which it is failing after a virus has been
detected. On a good system you get the sequence of logged MailScanner
messages:
...
MailScanner[5117]: Virus Scanning: Found 1 viruses
MailScanner[5117]: Virus Scanning completed at 22614 bytes per second
... [sendmail messages]
MailScanner[5117]: Notices: Warned about 1 messages
MailScanner[5117]: Virus Processing completed at 45228 bytes per second
Wheras on the failing 4.39.3-1 system you get:
MailScanner[10011]: Virus Scanning: Found 1 viruses
MailScanner[10011]: Virus Scanning completed at 41719 bytes per second
... [sendmail messages]
MailScanner[10011]: Cannot open message file , No such file or directory
