Yes, I've done it painlessly. The _1 bit clearly is the patched version (I
say clearly as I haven't confirmed this but I think this is a safe
assumption) so it doesn't change any version directories so you don't need
to rebuild any modules. The only gotcha you need to watch out for is
ensuring if you built Perl threaded in the original 5.8.7 make sure you
pass this option to portupgrade for 5.8.7_1 or else nothing will work or
build!
Having done this my MailScanner boxes are all still working fine (As you
can tell if you can read this :-) )
