Actually it's just the opposite :)

MailScanner should use your sendmail configuration with no modifications.
Just install MailScanner and then:

chkconfig sendmail off
chkconfig MailScanner on
service MailScanner start

The only gotcha is that MailScanner assumes you sendmail configuration file
is /etc/mail/sendmail.cf. If it's different you'll need to modify
/etc/init.d/MailScanner
