Possible bug with spam permissions

Basic question: You did check the integrity of the .iso?

I'm really not a FreeBSD guru (never used it in prod, but I've never had
any problem booting off an install disk.

Are using vmware?  You can just tell vmware to use the .iso image as
cdrom drive.
