Everyone,
I figured it out. Starting with "some new version or another" (don't
remember which), postfix runs independently of MailScanner. However,
postfix is configured so that all inbound mail goes to it's "hold" queue,
where it effectively forgets about it. MailScanner picks it up from
there, does "its thing", then drops it in the postfix outbound queue,
where postfix happily finds and delivers it. Works like a charm. Kinda
nifty, actually.

Um, those two should be set to /usr(sbin/sendmail, I believe.
That would be the "convenience sendmail" interface for postfix.
