2500 timeouts a day! (Solved)

Thanks to everybody who replied. I think I got a handle on the various
aspects of tuning MailScanner.
Last night I conducted a test. I had a little over 1500 entries in the
MailScanner blacklist file. I moved this file and created a blank
blacklist file. As of a few minutes ago, I had received 1 timeout in the
last 10 hours. As I was getting a timeout at least every few minutes,
I'd say this has solved the problem.
However, yesterday from the reports I run, it showed that 900 pieces of
spam were blocked by blacklist. This is not to say that bayes or SA
rules would not have picked these up anyway.
Question. I currently have 512mb memory and a 2.4Ghz Celeron powering
this MailScanner server. This server processes roughly 12,000 emails a
day. What factor would is limiting the abililty for MailScanner to
process all the entries in the blacklist? Is this a memory issue?
Thanks,
Max
