Specific E-mail hanging POP3 mail clients

Hi:

I've had infrequent problems like this for quite a while w/ various
versions of netscape messenger.
I have not been able to track it down to the part of the message that
causes the problem.

I see the same problem from time to time in the Mozilla thunderbird mail
client.
The solution has been to edit the users mailbox (w/ mutt) and delete the
offending piece of mail.

This can be difficult because I can't seem to get mutt to order the mail
by date in the same way that netscape does, (or to get netscape to list
mail in "downloaded" order) so it can be hard (in a large mailbox) to
find the one piece of mail that's hanging things up.
