Yeah, and the baby is rather calm.

Uptime and memory usage gives you a very good idea of your systems,
health.  You can check for delay as well, but it should be ok.

You can keep a terminal window open with a top open in it...

For diagnosis, you'll look a the vmstat command.  Good to learn how to
interpret its output now if you've got some time, and write down some
procedures...
