There is no Gentoo package!

Gentoo uses install scripts (ebuilds). The ebuild for MailScanner
(which is still beta) simply fetches the source of MailScanner and
installs the required perl packages from CPAN. Compile / installs the lot
and all is done!

This is why I suggested re-submitting Julian's version to CPAN again,
Gentoo has nothing to do with it. If it would be possible to install
Julian's version from CPAN other architectures would benefit from it too
by simply being able to install all required perl modules from CPAN
instead of downloading and installing yourself!
