MailScanner not working after computer lockup

I did a chkconfig sendmail off and have rebooted with the same issue.

Now, when I do start MailScanner I get 2 sendmails starting running ps ax |
grep -i mail

one is in /var/spool/client
other in /var/spool/mqueue

If I stop MailScanner, nothing is there.
