sophos savi error, solaris, LD_LIBRARY_PATH

could this be added to solaris 9 faq?

was getting mailscanner error:

problem is fixed if I add /usr/local/Sophos/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I am also curious, I see /usr/bin/perl: fatal: which makes me think that
solaris'
perl (/usr/bin/perl) is being called by something instead of the custom
perl I built for Mailscanner (/usr/local/bin/perl)

even though I have /usr/local/bin/perl first in all PATH statements, and
I modified MailScanner's path statement to put /usr/local/bin first...:
# whereis perl
perl: /usr/bin/perl /usr/local/bin/perl

# which perl
/usr/local/bin/perl

ideas?
