We put exact commands whenever we can. However, the commands depend, most of the time, on the kind of system you're running. For example, you won't see the install.sh script on a sun system. Some people have commands located in a non-default location, etc. We can't put every command for every situation, or the FAQ will just not end.
Learning how to use MailScanner is still a long process, since you have to understand many things about e-mails, servers, spam, viruses, and so mailscanner itself. I'm just trying to make it easier, not easy. We can't just translate it in a series of command.

Setting up a whitelist is not really related to programming. It is more like a sysadmin task. If you've gone through the process of gathering your info in the faqs, and you still have problems, it is the task of the list to help you and we'll be glad to do it. However, even the list cannot always spot the exact problem, especially if it is a typo. Unfortunately, we cannot go through the whole process everytime.

I actually began writing the text, I would be glad to hear your comments.
