Lot of mails in mqueue.in

Hi Group

I am in a bit of a soup. It would be great if someone could give any
 pointers.

In one of our customer's place mails were getting stuck since there was a
 mail with huge attachment (30 MB). The offending mail has been deleted. But
 there is a backlog of 2500 + mails on the server now.

We have restarted MailScanner. It says

But nothing else happens apart from that. The number of files in mqueue.in
directory does not reduce.

What could I be doing wrong?
