problems with MailScanner and eTrust

I'm running MailScanner v4.31.6 with postfix on both RedHat 7.3 and SUSE Ent. 8

With either version of linux MailScanner will not call the etrust wrapper f-prot or clam run perfect.  I've checked the virus.scanner.conf and MailScanner.conf and everthing is working there.  I've put "echos" in the etrust.wrapper and they never get called.  Any clues on why this would be?
