Greetings,

If you haven't noticed, sendmail 8.13.0 came out last night
(www.sendmail.org). I upgraded our mail server to it last night,
and implemented the GreetPause feature, which is new. See
John Rudd's email to this list (dated 7 May) for a discussion
of this feature, and also see the webpage he referenced:

http://www.armory.com/~spcecdt/spamware/

In looking at my sendmail and mailscanner logs this morning,
it is clear that my number of email viruses dropped to near zero
since midnight, and the spam tagged by MS/SA also dropped
dramatically. Since midnight, I've punted over 4700 connections
that would not wait for my GreetPause time. Sorry that I am not
running mrtg or have any plots to show. But I'm convinced GreetPause
is great news against spam.

Now I'm waiting for the phone to ring about complaints. I'll
let you know if GreetPause causes any.
