Syslog

First off, I'm using MailScanner 4.31.6, SpamAssassin 2.63, and Perl 5.8.3
on a Tru64 UNIX version 5.1B box.  I'm logging all of my MailScanner
entries to a separate syslog file but I'm running into truncation problems
with some of the spam reports (I'm logging all spam scores).  Is there a
maximum line length for the logging function in SA, the Perl module, or
syslog itself?  It seems to max out at about 1024 for the text.  I've
written a handy script that gives me the counts (in reverse sorted order)
of hits for each rule with the score and the .cf file that contains the
rule but I'm hitting problems where some rulenames are being truncated in
the logs.  Thanks.
