MailScanner stopped working on Solaris 8 machines

Hello all,

I have a very strange problem. I had MailScanner with clamav working great
then about 2 weeks ago it has stopped working.
The system is running solaris 8 - 64bit, using mailscanner 4.28.6-1,
clamav .67 and sendmail 8.11.6.

Today I built and installed MailScanner 4.31.2-1 and clamav .74 on one
machine and still nothing. The mail is being sent right along without any
checks being done, even though mailscanner is running as you can see with
the following

I even enabled in mailscanner.conf the option

Scanned Modify Subject = end

under the
# Changes to the Subject: line
section.

I have sendmail starting like this

/usr/lib/sendmail $MODE -OPrivacyOptions=noetrn -ODeliveryMode=queueonly -
OQueueDirectory=/var/spool/mqueue.in &
/usr/lib/sendmail -q15m &
/opt/MailScanner/bin/check_mailscanner

I am also getting confirmation in /var/log/sendmaillog that Mailscanner has
started but I no longer the the messages like

MailScanner[11841]: New Batch: Scanning 1 messages, 7542 bytes
